Tampa Bay Double-Digit Favorite Against Division Rival Carolina

The early games on Sunday being hosted by NFC teams have the potential to be decided early on when looking at the NFL Week 7 betting odds.

When the season started, the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys were among the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. All three teams are coming off losses and will look to bounce back.

Dallas is currently sitting in third place in the NFC East with Green Bay and Tampa Bay having limped to 3-3 starts.
Tampa Bay (-550) is still favored to win the NFC South title while Dallas (+550) and Green Bay (+265) trail Philadelphia and Minnesota in their respective divisions.

Tampa Bay (+1400) is tied for second in the Super Bowl among NFC teams. The odds for the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are priced at +2000.

Don’t be surprised to see both Tampa Bay and Green Bay to have a little extra chip on their shoulder thanks to recent struggles.

Detroit Lions vs Dallas Cowboys

Date, time (TV): (CBS)
Line: Dallas -7

It is looking like Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will be back on the field for the first time since injuring his thumb in the season opener. His status will impact how the NFL Week 7 betting odds will shake out.

Dallas (4-2) won four games in a row with Cooper Rush starting at quarterback before Sunday’s loss to division rival Philadelphia.

Detroit is hoping to get running back DeAndre Swift back for the game. Keep an eye on the key players for the Lions.

Detroit’s offense can be explosive when all the playmakers are out on the field. That hasn’t been the case recently with Swift, receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and tight end T.J. Hockenson slowed by various ailments. The defense for Detroit (1-4)  has allowed the most rushing yards and total yards in the NFL.

Dallas’ defense has risen to the occasion following the injury to Prescott and the Cowboys are third in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing just 16.3 points per game. Micah Parsons, who is tied for second in the NFL with six sacks, leads the Dallas defense.

The total has gone over in six of the last seven Detroit games while 13 of the last 18 games for the Cowboys went under the total.

Dallas has won the last four meetings against Detroit, but the Lions have covered in two of them.

Green Bay Packers vs Washington Commanders

Date, time (TV):
Line: Green Bay -5.5

When looking at thePackers as the favorites in this one, despite back-to-back losses to the New York Giants and New York Jets.

Losing star receiver Davante Adams hasn’t helped, but the offensive issues go deeper than that in a 3-3 start by Green Bay.

Rookie Romeo Doubs leads the team with 26 catches, but he is only averaging nine yards per reception.
Aaron Jones is averaging 5.8 yards per carry. However, he is being underutilized as 22 players have more rushing attempts so far this season and that includes teammate A.J. Dillon.

Green Bay’s situation is much better than Washington’s.

The 2-4 Commanders are four games out of first place in the NFC East and now will be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz for a few weeks. Taylor Heinicke, who completed 65% of his es with 20 touchdowns a season ago, is back at quarterback. Keep an eye on rookie running back Brian Robinson, who ran for 60 yards and his first NFL touchdown in a win over Chicago.

Washington hopes to have tight end Logan Thomas and rookie receiver Jahan Dotson back for the game while Green Bay receiver Randall Cobb has already been ruled out for the game.

Green Bay has won the last two games against Washington with both contests finishing under the total.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers

Date, time (TV): (FOX)
Line: Carolina +11

When center Ryan Jensen was hurt in the preseason, more than a few Buccaneers fans wondered what the impact was going to be, especially with the loss of a couple of key interior offensive linemen in the offseason.

Quarterback Tom Brady has only been sacked nine times, but he has been under duress due to the issues on the offensive line. It hasn’t helped that Tampa Bay (3-3) has run for the fewest rushing yards in the NFL.

Carolina, (1-5) despite the presence of Christian McCaffrey, has the fewest rushing attempts in the NFC. Now there are rumblings about McCaffrey possibly being traded.

With the injury to Baker Mayfield and P.J. Walker questionable, could Jacob Eason make his first career start at quarterback for the Panthers. Carolina will be without receiver Robby Anderson. He was thrown out of last week’s game after a verbal exchange with an assistant coach and promptly traded to Arizona.

The Buccaneers are looking for their fifth win in a row against Carolina with the average margin of victory being 21.8 points.
