The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the most successful franchises in MLB history, established in 1882 and initially going under the  St. Louis Brown Stockings. The team was one of the founding of the American Association, but they changed the team’s name to the St. Louis Browns in 1883.

In 1900, the team switched allegiances, ing the MLB team.

In the century of being part of the MLB, the Cardinals have constantly been one of the best teams.
